How to Install Packages on Mikrotik Router

Installing Packages on Mikrotik Router

In the first step, update your RouterOS to the latest version. To do this, navigate to the System menu from the Winbox, choose Packages, and click on Check for Updates:

If an update is available, click on the Download & Install button to start the update process. Once the update is finished, the router will prompt you to reboot the device. Click on Reboot to restart the router.

Now it’s time to install packages. To do this, you should download the packages. So, navigate to the Mikrotik official website and go to the Software section:

Make sure your Mikrotik operating system and Packages are the same versions. To do this, navigate to the System >> Resources path from the Winbox and check the version section:

Once the download is completed, choose the packages you want to install. To do this, go to the Files section from the Winbox and click on Upload to choose the desired packages:

Now you should go to the System >> Reboot path and restart your Mikrotik Router to install the packages:
