How to Select a Tuning Profile on Debian

Tuning Profiles are the base profiles which are mostly shipped in the base tuned package. They are targeted for various goals and provide performance optimizations but there are also profiles targeted to low power consumption, low latency, and others. Given that the discussion of profiles is very broad, we can briefly say that Tuned profiles are divided into two categories: Power-saving profiles and Performance-boosting profiles. Power-saving profiles

Power-saving profiles contain energy settings that are not normally enabled by default compared to power-saving mechanisms that are enabled by default. The following is an example to maximize throughput. It should be noted that using the tuned-adm profile command you can switch from one active profile to another active profile:

sudo tuned-adm profile throughput-performance
